Based on historical people and real events around the Salem Witch Trials in 1692, Arthur Miller’s classic play unleashes the destructive power of rumor, suspicion, greed, resentment, and jealousy in Salem Village leaving nineteen people dead in its wake. Written as a parable about McCarthyism in his time, this electrifying drama stands as one of the most produced American plays on professional and high school stages for over sixty-five years.
